Soory, i just installed a pergo floor, and the T-molding is for the doorways between the carpet and new floor in this room.

I can afford the bit, I was referring to an actual drill.

T as in transition, Got that much.

Certainly you can use contractor grade adhesives. Liquid nails makes a variety of types. The issue might be in the abuse it sustains however.

Without knowing at all the type of drill you have; you don't need a TOOL so much as the proper bits. TAP CONS work fine for me with a DeWalt 12 volt. In any case you won't lose but a couple dollars trying the adhesive. Liquid nails will pretty clearly spell out instructions. On what I use they state apply; press; pull away; allow 15 seconds maybe; and press back. It tacs allowing to to be more like a contact cement.

If it's going from carpet to laminate (or Pergo), it's not a T-mold you should be using, as the carpet side will fail and it will crack right down the middle. You should be using a reducer, or even an end-molding, where one side is fitted onto the pergo, and the other side is finished, so as to create an ending to the pergo, and a beginning to the carpet. I have been a professional flooring consultant for the past 6 years, going on #7.
And you can put either of these down with liquid nails - just be sure not to use but a thin line.

There is a reason that they make drill bits for wood / steel / concrete. A concrete bit is not that expensive, replacing the bits you burned out will probably cost more than the $3 you are to cheap to spend
