I don't know anything about the manga (i.e., the magazine), but stay away from the anime (i.e., cartoon) version, most recently seen on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" on Saturday nights, before they canned it.
It is a major borefest with the alleged Prince winning virtually every bout, and everybody either loving or loathing him. It got "old" after three episodes!
FWIW, I'm an avid tennis player and fan who thinks the "Prince" should take up bowling! ;)
