Is it illegal in Tn for a manager of a bar to hold a private party (BYOB) on a Sunday in a dry county? No beer sold-- only watching sporting events, eating, and drinking beverages
bought elsewhere.

This "nascar and NFL" gathering would ba at the bar he is leasing. Remember no beer is being sold.

Since it is also illegal to operate a bar in a dry county, I'm going to have to assume you mean in his home. If the county does not bar the import of alcoholic beverages then the part is legal. The person's occupation has no bearing here.

That is an interesting question and if you're willing to do the leg work you can probably find the answer at www.tennessee.gov. I would guess that it is legal, but I don't want to mislead you.

If it is truely private, yes. The private party statute allows country clubs and such to exist.
