Statistics being what they are and averages being averages I would suspect that we would have thousands of arrests each year of family members of police officers .
So why is it I tried a few searches and came up empty handed . Help me find arrests of law enforcements family members please .

Oh yeah this is in the politics section because I find people here to be of above average intelligence in most cases compared to the rest of the categories .

Twice I had to arrest friends . Didn't like it one bit either , but it was necessary . So there's 2 examples for ya .
The stats and averages that you're alluding to are not accurate . In other words , yes , policemen do have family members who break the law . And yes , often they don't arrest them for it . But you're forgetting , or possibly don't know , that every police officer lets many non-family members off the hook ALL THE TIME ! Every day of the week .

In Chicago if you have a family member on the Police force you can get away with most anything minor, you don't have to pay parking tickets and things like that, if your caught dirnking adn driving you get followed home and not arrested. It's kinda like if a family member came into your work or business, if you owned a 711 you'd give them a free slurpy, a reaturuant youd give them a free desert, cop you'll let them off the hook.

I would imagine that most police would be inclined to look past the law breaking of family members. Matter of fact, they would be inclined to look past their own too. They can do that, they are not required to enforce the law, they can determine policy on the spot on a case by case basis. So long as they weren't, say, letting family members steal stuff or murder people, their shouldn't be a major problem.
