Yes. And if you understand about magickal names - or craft names as they are also known - you realize I can't just give it out to anyone.

If you are wondering how to find yours - it will find you if you pay attention, relax, and be receptive. Look for things that repeat in your life.

Edit: And, as you can see from the above answers, you probably should have asked this in Religion and Spirituality, not Mythology and Folklore. Oh well.

Too bad so many people can't answer you intelligently.

I have a magical name in the western occult tradition (ceremonial magick, not Wicca) but it is secret.

My alter ego "magical name" is Dionesia LaMaga. I'm currently writing a novel in which the protagonist has this name.

My spiritual name from my Vedantist guru is Chinmayi, a Sanskrit term that means "form of divine consciousness" (btw, "Kris" is not a name that a Vedantist guru would normally give an initiate and a dagger called a kris is not of Indian origin--but whatever. I'm glad the person wrote in, though because at least it was an honest, real, and intelligent answer even though some idiot felt compelled to thumb down it).

When I was practicing Buddhism and also practicing Kundalini yoga I was given spiritual names as well, but I no longer use those names.

Yes, I do. A previous answerer--AJ--is absolutely right! A magical name cannot be thrown around like any name. It's special, even sacred, and only known to a select few.

When you find yours, if you're looking for one, that is, it will be one that will fit you more than any other name. When I found my magical name (I call it my true name) I felt an odd, yet peaceful feeling, like that had always been my name and I was just waking up from a lifelong case of amnesia.

Edit: It would help if I took the time to read all the details, wouldn't it? ;) Disregard the "if you're looking for one" part--you've already got one:)

My 'magical' name is my 'legal name' now ... It's the name that was 'given to me' by a Vedantist guru when I was starting college to become a psychologist. A 'kris' is a knife that is 'sharp' on both edges of the blade, and the blade has 'curves' in it. It's a 'sacrificial knife' used by the Hindus in India, and I was given that name as a 'reminder' that a psychologist can do both great good and great harm, and I actually feel this name 'fits' me so much better than my 'birth name' that I changed to it legally in a court of law. For me, that 'fits' the 'magical' name you asked if I knew PERFECTLY.

Yes. Those close to me in practice know it, also. And its a far cry from the "Lady Pixie Moondrip" stuff.
