I'm pregnant and know that I am not allowed to have these types of cheeses: brie, feta, etc. I don't know what foods there are most commonly used in though?

Also, I know hot dogs, and deli meats are not supposed to be eaten, what about bologna?

Any other foods should I avoid?

.....it's all kinds of Brie, Feta, Bleu, Havarti....any soft cheese. (or one that comes with a rind)Usually in salads, greek, italian, french, and mediterriean foods. If you eat out...simply tell the waitress to leave that crap off. If you cook...just don't use it.

No deli meats...You can eat them if they are heated to steaming though that will kill the bacteria.
Bologna is a no-no because it has too many carcinogenic nitrates and potential listeria poisoning.
No shell-fish, sushi, and raw or undercooked meats, poultry or eggs. No tilefish, shark, albacore tuna (light is ok) because of high levels of mercury.

I think with the cheeses, they're usually just topping types....I don't think they're often used IN entres that wouldn't list them....but just ask when you're in a restaurant if you're questioning. Personally, I only use feta in a couple recipes at home and it's as a pasta topping, like parmesan.
Yep, bologna falls into the deli meat. Sorry!

Most cheese is pasteurized. In France, some cheese is unpasteurized because of its unique flavor.

Unpasturized cheese may lead to stomach cramps, indigestion or sickness...and not advised during pregnancy, for older people or kids. One's immunity may easily get compromised.
