I don't think it's your imagination. There does seem to be a lot more unnecessary anger. just look at how much anger there is on here, not to mention ranting about what "real" women, and "real" men are.
I think it's that a lot of men (not most, but many) are starting to get a little insecure because they feel they are less necessary than men of previous generations. Women don't really need them for financial support. Nor do they need to be married to avoid being a pariah or outcast. In fact, a woman doesn't even need a man in her life to reproduce- she can always just go to a sperm bank and pay for it.
That's not to say men are truly "unnecessary." It's just that women don't need to depend on them for the above mentioned things anymore. I think if these men learned that they could be valued as partners, friends, and lovers, and be happy with that, a lot of their insecurity would fall away.

What is there to be afraid of?
I'm certain there are some women who fancy that way of thinking...they like to think that men feel threatened by strong women. But don't mistake anger or resentment for fear. Confusion might even make the list, as women today are somewhat confusing in their messages and how they present themselves.
But truthfully, I haven't met any men that are 'afraid of women'.

You've lived throughout history to know!!!???? Are you several thousand years old?
Women yelling how independent and outspoken they are = Men saying they're alpha males
But if it makes you feel better: Yes, people don't like you because you're sooooo independent. The bad, bad men.

Nah, not afraid at all. I just find it amusing to hear the illogical debates of some feminists who claim they want equality but not the responsibility that goes along with that equality.

I don't know. I never lived in 'any other time in history.' Most men are the new women.

No. Men (as a group) have been actively taking steps to devalue and domineer women for thousands of years.

Well, many men were pretty hysterically (pun intended) afraid of women in the Middle Ages (Thomas Aquinas), but back in those days, they just burned them at the stake or put them in the stocks. I think many of today's misogynists resent that they no longer have those options.
