I got my Mom's car. 1963 Rambler Ambassador station wagon. Champagne gold, gold shag carpet everywhere, gold reclining bucket seats, push button automatic. Not a muscle car by any means. BUT, the bucket seats reclined and the back seat folded down. Quite the car to have at the drive-in!
Oh how I long for my youth!!!

My first car was NOT a GTO although I did own a "Family Man's GTO" for a while. 1965 LeMans which is the year I graduated from HS but I owned it as a 30 year old car.
My first car was a Renault Dauphine. Rear engine, water cooled 4 cylinder that had a 3 speed tranny.... Slow, Damn slow, and Stop. ;+)
I've owned a few cars over the years. Opel Kadett (which I rolled), Chevy Nova, Ford Van (9 mpg), Luv truck, Dodge Ram truck (a dear hit that one in the side coming out of Grand Canyon), Dodge Van, Gremlin, Toyota Corolla, LeMans, Honda Prelude, and now I own a Jeep Cherokee.
I've only owned 2 motorcycles, Honda 360 twin and a '76 Honda 750 which I still ride. I'll bet GW got a nice motor!
TMI ??

My first car was 1938 Triang pedal car which I still have hanging up in the garage half way through a restoration. My first real car was a 1937 Austin Seven Ruby saloon which I bought in 1952 for a hundred pounds, the seats had inflatable bladders underneath the cushions to make them more comfortable, you blew them up like a balloon. Number plate was WO23?? can't remember the other numbers. She was navy blue and black.

You know actually it was. It was when I was a little kid and it belonged to my sister and me. It was this little pea green GTO that you had to pedal. We thought that little car was really great. My first 'big girl' car was a '79 red Ford Festiva and I was 27 years old then. I sure waited a long time between cars. LOL

A ten year old Ford (woody) station wagon with only 12,000 miles on it, it had been sitting in a neighbors barn as a chicken roost for years after his father died. It was covered in chicken poo, it cleaned up beautifully(really). Needed new tires and battery, but the engine was like new, I loved that car, we could put our go-carts, bikes, and all kinds of cool stuff including rubber tires in the back of it and head for the reservoir. I sold it years later to some kids for $ 50.00. Boy were they happy. It out lasted a renalt(we almost got killed in that thing) and a chevy impala.

My first car was a black and white 1956 2-door Chevy. Then, I got a 1967 Mustang. I wish I had either of those cars today!

1956 Ford 4-door sedan. It was 9 years old and I had just got my first driver's license at age 25. Didn't get it sooner because my parents said I wasn't mature enough to learn to drive.
Since I was a new driver, I named the car "Baby Jane," because I figured after a couple of months, everybody would wonder "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane." I never got a scratch on it!

The first car that I ever bought with my own money after the divorce was an old Buick Regal. Not very pretty but it was all I could afford and ran very well.

On one hand... I wish my first car was a GTO.
On the other hand... If it was, I'd probably be dead.
My first car was actually a 1962 VW Beetle. Bought it used and paid for it myself.

a 69 VW bug, red, with the loud custom exhaust pipe that backfired a lot, and a "keep on truckin"sign on the back window. That poor car went through all of us 3 sisters...I drove it into a lake, AND blew up the engine; the middle sister backed into a light pole outside a bar, and the youngest sister put her fist through the windshield in a temper fit.
