I think that is great! We need some change in our system. Hillary or Obama may be able to turn this whole country around.

For those who understood where I ws coming from, thank you so much. For those who were very negative about my question, you all are very ignorant, immature, and childish. All i am syaing is that I am ready for change. I did not say that I would vote for them because she is a woman and he is black. But I do believe that they can make a change. Barak is very big on equality-not just on racism, but prejudism between the wealthy and the poor, things like that. Hillary is very educated and respectful to herself as well as others. And this was just a simple question. I you think you want t to leave a negative and stupid comment on my page, you need to think again

It is not their gender or their skin color that makes somebody a great president. Being black or a woman is not what is going to change the system. It is about character and integrity and being courageous enough to make changes.

Your Question asked if America is ready for a black or a female president. That is what people are responding to. The problem is not ours.....it is how you asked your question.

I think that America is ready for both a female or a black man to be president, for that matter I think we're equally ready for a black woman to be president. I just don't think America is ready for, or can stand what it would do to the country, for Hillary Clinton or Barak Obama to be president, and that isn't because Hillary is female and Barak is black.

As the greatest country in the world, America is ready for everything positive, that's why Hillary Clinton would be elected in the White House on November 2008!

How is voting FOR them because of their gender or skin color less racist/sexist than voting AGAINST them for that reason?

I don't like either of them based on their POLITICS.

Am I ready for a woman or black man as president? I don't care if the president is a gender neutral alien from mars who's orange and green. So long as they have what it takes to lead the country properly. So does Hillary Clinton or Barak Obama have what it takes? Not in my opinion.

PS. I disagree that these posters are arrogant, immature, or childish for thinking you meant you'd vote for them because of their gender or race. Your question could have been worded better to avoid that assumption and reverse discrimination is rampant enough that one has no idea from a post on the internet if you do it or not.

You are asking two different questions. One is based on gender and race. The other is based on certain individuals you have chosen. The question for you is:
Do you vote entirely on gender and race or based on your political beliefs?
Most Americans vote according to their beliefs.
Most believe a black man or a woman can lead. The candidates you have chosen may not be acceptable to many because of their beliefs.
By mentioning "turn this country around" do you mean away from capitalism and toward socialism? For many, that is what they believe a Hillary or Obama win would do. For that, they are not the best candidates.

>Is America ready for a woman(Hillary Clinton) or a black man(Barak Obama) for president?

The fact that people are still arguing about presidential candidates on the basis of their gender or skin color is conclusive proof that what America REALLY needs is a GOOD president, regardless of the above attributes.

Yes, but neither Hillary nor B. Hussein Obama bin Laden are wanted for the Presidency beginning in 2009.

America is ready for a woman President, as long as that woman would make a GOOD President. Sorry to say, Hillary AIN'T the one, though she does have the balls to be capable.

As for a black President? Why not? As long as he has the balls for the job and would be a good one. Unfortunately, Obama strikes me as being WAY too nice for the job. He would have to be much tougher than he seems to be.

I think the country is ready. Hillary is a lousy candidate though, Obama on the other hand is exactly what this country needs right now.
