Friend has several !!! moving violations and tickets - a few years old. Wants to get his license back. Any way of doing restitution other than paying the fines? Is there any way some of them can be forgiven because they are so old? They are way past contesting and he admits they are his but just can't pay them all off. Does he just get used to never being able to drive again now that he is a bit (?) more mature??

They are old tickets for both parking and moving violations. He does not have his license now and has a chance at a very good job if he can get it. Unfortunately, he can't pay the whole debt in one shot. It goes without saying he acted irresponsibly but is trying to correct the situation. My question is a serious one and appreciate the one person giving a concrete suggestion. Thank you.

Try going before a judge and asking for community service. Just show up at court, sign yourself onto the docket and throw yourself at the mercy of the court. They usually like that stuff 'cause most of the time people don't do jack and then just end up getting arrested next time they pull over, and there's no bail, Babes, and prolly end up losing their job because of it.

Go talk to the clerk of the court, and see if there is an arbitration process on old tickets....
