Get a bunch of your friends and have them stand about 300 yards in front of the contraption (opposite the arm). Turn the crank until the arm of the contraption is at about a 0 to 10 degree angle from the ground, then take anything you want: a brick of cheese, a toilet, bottle of lotion, Rubik's cube, etc. and put it in the sling (usually made of rope, cloth, or leather). Then pull the lever in front of the gear (near the crank), and it will launch the item of your choice toward your friends. Whoever catches it wins and will then get prep and fire the trebuchet until the next friend makes a catch. Repeat until all but one friend is left. The last friend remaining gets placed into a closed net and launched straight into the ground. That's how you play Medieval Roulette (a.k.a. Trebuchet Roulette).
NOTE: Don't let Gary Busey know you have a Trebuchet or that you're playing Medieval Roulette.

It's called a "letter". Many years ago people used to write things on paper and mail them to each other. It would take many days for the letter to get to the receiving party, then that party would respond by writing a letter. By the time that letter reached the original letter writing party they would have forgotten what they wrote about the first time....
Thank God we don't have to live like that any more! Long live email!!!!!
