I agree that political correctness is complete bull$hit. If something isn't allowed just because it offends someone, then we should have wooden houses: it offends nature freaks. We shouldn't have meat: it offends vegetarians. The list goes on. Everyone has the right to express their views; just saying something like that shouldn't get you fired.

But did you say it? Or were you actually TEACHING it in your class? If the latter is true, you must realize that there is precious little scientific evidence stating that women are less intelligent than men. Opinionated and speculative teaching isn't education, it's philosophy.

First of all, you are wrong. Your comments are also chauvinistic and make you sound like a jerk. Research does not support your claims.

Now, as a teacher, you are dealing with young people whose beliefs, attitudes, and personalities are still developing. Telling a group of children that half of them are not as smart as the other half is damaging to their self-esteem, both for the boys and the girls because you are putting down the girls and any boy who is fooolish enough to believe you and does not do as well as the girls winds up feeling as dumb as a box of rocks.

Even if you do not verbally express this attitude to the children, they can probably see it in the way you treat them.

If I had a child in your class, particularly a girl, but a boy, too, I would sue the school if they didn't fire your behind.

And while PC may be out of control, that doesn't change the fact that only an idiot would make such claims.

Well, it's un-PC to to say something like that. So, if you come out with such a statement, and have solid research to back it up, then, yes, you were only fired because of out-of-control PC-ness.

I doubt very much that you have such research, or even that such a thing really happened to you, though (I'm guessing your question is more along the lines of a hypothetical). If you said something offensive with nothing to back it up but your own prejudice, then, yeah, you got what you deserved, even if it was at the hands of PC thought police who'd have done the same even had your assertions been arived at impartially.

Unfortunately the "Thought Police" are everywhere. Whether or not your views are correct is immaterial, this country obviously doesn't want teachers who can think for themselves. Thinking publicly sets a bad example for the rest of the population. Young people at school are particuarly vunerable, and exposing them to the concept of freedom of thought and expression puts them at risk of denying them the ability to trust the State.

George Orwell had great insight to our modern dilemna, and wrote great parables, which if interpreted in a particular way, warn us all to behave ourselves, not to think and to know our place and stay there.

I thoroughly recommend reading Orwell's book "1984" (and also "Animal Farm"), but whatever you do, don't think about what you read, and certainly don't say whatever you believe and know, unless it complies with Government Directives.

IF you are a teacher, then you should know better than to say something so ridiculous. The size of the human brain doesn't have anything to do with measuring intelligence. Since that seems to be the only avenue you could take for a basis to say that, I'm guessing that is your rationale. I'd fire you too. We have enough problems with education in this country without allowing our teachers to make lame brain statements like this that children might actually believe. We don't expect teachers to teach their personal VIEWS, we expect them to teach facts to our children.

this is simply by fact white adult males have an emasculated image and black adult males at the instant are pc. human beings don't understand the placement, inspite of the indisputable fact that. this is all image and maximum women seem to stay by that. maximum northern cultures have found out tolerance to a factor. this is greater a count number of self-discipline. We make ourselves be tolerant till this is going to become pointless from abusive human beings taking too lots earnings too long. Well you are but in a school environment it is different. It is like teacher's aren't really suppose to talk about thier views on religion or race. Outside of school is fine, but inside it is different. Btw, I respect your views, but women can be just as intelligent as men. If you were a good teacher you would have known that.

I think that if you show test scores are lower for women, that most valedictorians are men, or some kind of data that proves your point, you should not be punished, but you will be. We are in a PC world.

Try saying it about blacks and see what happens. That world renowned Nobel prize winning geneticist just got fired because his years of research indicated that blacks were less intelligent than whites. Democrats are winning because Republicans get chastised every time they open their mouths.
