Am I going to be able to get my child the help that they need? That is the question I think most parents face that have a child with special needs. Then they face the fear of failure - the fear they will not be able to get them the help that their child needs because the system fights so hard to keep from helping the children as they are supposed to.

I have a daughter who has special needs. From talking to other parents in the same situation as me the main complaint is getting the proper support from the authorities who are there to provide it. Everything you need, that should be provided without question is a fight to receive. I include in all this the proper health care, the right support in education, help from social services and generally help for families that care day to day for a child with special needs.

Even parents with regular ed. kids face "getting their children's needs met"
I'd say believing in you, your family and the child because there will be so many people telling you what he/she can't do, you have to be stronger than that and never give up on your goals and dreams for that kid.
