A woman that works for my husband by the name of "Sally" is ALWAYS having domestic issues with her live in boyfriend. She has left him several times and he shows up at her work (My husband's job) and her house and so on to win her back. She has NEVER pressed charges on him for any of the assualts he has done to her. Now she is wanting a restraining order because of the last issue she had over the weekend. He punched her in the eye and of course she didnt press charges, she just left and not wants a R.O. Now what would happen to "Sally" if she conntacted her ex boyfriend that she has put the R.O. on? Would she be in trouble her self for contacting him via phone or in person at his house?
plus if she was out at apublic club and her ex showed up there how would the R.O. work then?

Thanks for all your help and I am so grateful!!!!

getting a restraining order is simple, free, and easy. All she has to do is go to the police station

obviously she does not want a restraining order. One of the most baffling things about women is how many of them put up with such abuse...basically, I have come to the conclusion that some women, especially with low self-esteem, crave abuse in ways they themselves do not understand.

if she gets a restraining order against him, and attempts to contact him in any way EXCEPT certified letter, that will likely void the restraining order---but laws vary from state to state.

if she is at the bar and the ex shows up he is required to leave immediately.

Rebekkah, this is some stuff that I've seen more than once. you cannot fix it. Don't try.

If she filed an R.O., she would also be held responsible for contacting him. Most R.O.'s have a limit on how close a person can physically get to the filer.

She would not be in trouble for contacting him because a restraining order only goes one way. I, of course, think she should be in trouble for contacting him, but that is not the way the law works. If he picks up the phone and talks to her, HE is in violation. If she is at a public club and he shows up, it is his responsibility to leave when he realizes she's there. If he doesn't, he is in violation of the order.
