Interesting statistic - what survey provided the information that twice as many girls are being born? Have you also studied any corresponding infant mortality rate statistics? I was also under the impression that some societies that value boys over girls are already rampantly aborting female fetuses, but I get that from the media so it could be entirely wrong.

And why would you want a boy vs. a girl, and not just a healthy baby? If it's a girl, do you plan to treat it differently than if it were a boy?

Sex selection is never 100% guaranteed, however, there are fertility clinics that do offer methods of providing a higher chance of having one gender over another.

As far as I know, they are still using collected sperm and adding a fluorescent marker chemical to it. Since the X chromosome is slightly larger, it will attract more of the dye and thus glow brighter when put through a machine called a flow cytometer which shines a beam of light that causes them to glow and then sorts them based on just how much they glow. It isn't 100% accurate though, but still can help you have a pretty good chance of having the desired sexed offspring that you want. However, this is costly to have done.

In addition, in many countries, it is culturally frowned upon to have female children, and many are aborted or killed if the sex of the fetus is known before birth. Many of these countries have abnormal male to female ratios now, and laws have had to be enacted to prevent this from happening, though it still does in many places.

It's really selfish and irrelavent to where your head should be in the process of reproduciton trying to make sure the sex of your baby complies with what you feel you want, but I think the rest of the world knows that regardless of gender differences, being able to produce life in any form is a blessing. So I wouldn't worry about, or stress your wife out about making sure it's a boy. What difference does it make in the grand scheme of things??

The only thing you can do it to go through IVF and have "family balancing" which is not offered at all fertility offices. Family balancing is when your sperm is genetically tested and they separate as many X and Y chromasone sperms and only expose the egg to the Y chromasone sperm. It is expensive and like i stated before, not offered by all feritlity clinics.

And your stats are false. girls are born 51% and boys 49%, but the world population consists of 54% women and 46% men, because men die about 5 years sooner than women.

Where did you get that idea (twice as many)? I read recently that although many assume there are many more women than men, that it's actually more like 1.01 men for every woman.

And if you want to try to control the sex of a potential child, you can look up online different things people do. I don't know that any are really effective, but I'm sure when people get the sex kid they desire, they're convinced whatever "tricks" they tried, were responsible.

well just for that i bet youl get a girl and also i hope that if you really want a boy youll only get girls

learn how to appreciate God for what he gives you and the sex of a baby shouldnt matter. you get what you deserve. God does things for a reason and if hes putting so many females here in the world i know he knows what he is doing

How can I conceive a girl? To improve your chances for conceiving a girl, you should BD a 4 to 2 days prior to ovulation, and abstain two days before and day of ovulation. This will allow the slower, longer-lived, female sperm to be ready for fertilization when ovulation does occur. Conceiving a girl is more difficult since you are abstaining on your peak fertility day. How can I conceive a boy? Time BD to occur the day before and the day of ovulation. This will allow the faster male sperm to get to the egg first.

Have sex on or just after ovulation, as boy sperm swims faster. This means that if the egg is already out then the boy sperm will get there first.

Just remember no earlier than middle of the cycle!

Boy sperm only live for 24 hours where as girl sperm lives for 5 days so, too soon = girl!

Lmao.

1. The current ratio of female vs. male babies is 51% to 49%.

2. You can't do anything to "make sure" your baby is a boy. There are certain methods you can use before conception to take advantage of the lifespans and swimming speeds of female and male- chromosoned sperm, but gender is decided at the time of conception.
