especially the "pasalubong" , what are the gifts you don't need to buy abroad, and not to bring back with you on travel.

I tell all of my relatives and friends coming home not to bother buying pasalubong because chances are these would be available here anyway.

Having said that, I make sure that anything they bring as pasalubong is properly appreciated.. After all it is the thought that counts in any gift-giving occasion.

Prettty much everything is available in the Philippines. All types of food and food ingredients, spiffy gadgets, electronics, clothes, bags, accessories, fashion items. Most brands are already there too, as well as their knockoffs. If you are thinking of gifts to bring your loved ones in the Philippines, make it something specific to your country. For example, if you are in Malaysia you might want to buy batik cloth or craftworks unique to Malaysia.
