What's the Deal with Pok e' Mon?!?

Question

Ok, so back when the first pokemon game came out in 1998, I got the red one because my friend basically talked me into it, he had the blue one. I played it for a few hours and never touched it agian. Not bashing it at all, but what makes it so great? 10yrs have past and I am now 24, would I enjoy it more now, I do like RPG's Alot more than back when I was 14.

Give me your biggest pokemon plug ever, I'm just curious, I see Pokemon Q&A left and right on this damn thing.

i actually have no idea what makes Pokemon so great. it's been around forever and people are just tied to it. my younger brothers love the games, cards and all. I'm very confused as to how they can actually enjoy it, but every time i ask, all they say is that they play it because it's fun. i just assume that you have to have a lot of patience for it. and it's just like yugio and naruto (forgive the spelling), you find a show that you like and start acting like you need everything that even faintly resembles that show. but with kids, what can you do? just watch what they do and appreciate the simplicity of it all.

It pretty good, I've been playing Pokemon ever since it was released and I'm fifteen now, It just doesn't seem to get old. However it isn't as good if you have barely ever watched the TV series. I don't know why it is but i think it's a pretty decent game.

what makes it so great is that it's a virtual world that you can travel around in. Plus it lets you talk to the characters that let you earn money.
