if its a latex paint use a scrub pad with soap/water,
if its oil or enamel, use finger nail polish remover,

Sandpaper is always a last resort...

If your door was sealed with polyurethane AND the paint was latex based, a good dish sponge and plain, warm water will get it off.

You might need to pick at the paint remaining in the wood grain using a pin or a needle. The sponge will not reach those areas.

If it was oil-based paint...oh, boy...it's a project! Your options are to strip the area, sand it, then refinish it. OR sand it down and then refinish it.

either get sand paper and scrub it off or use a sander and next time use plastice over you stuff the next time u do
