Don't get me wrong, I think that they're both good. It's just that when I think about "the best WR in the league today", neither one of those names pops into my head. Anyone else agree?

P.S. This question is coming from a Dallas Cowboys fan for anyone who wants to know.

I don't think they are overrated....over hyped yes. They are both excellent players who self-promote. They are just over-hyped.

I'm a Cowboys fan as well.

A couple years ago, I would have agreed with you, but I don't know that you can make that statement nowadays.

Moss is the best deep threat ever to play the game. Look at how much he has improved his QB's numbers everywhere he went - a quarterback just has to toss the ball up in the air and let him run and outjump anyone in his way. Look how many times last night Brady targeted Moss when he was double covered, and Moss still somehow managed to grab the ball. He has amazing speed, hands, and jumping ability. His biggest drawbacks are that he can't block to save his life, he can't/won't play through an injury, and he still has that "takes plays off" label.

As much as I hate TO, the guy's intensity and physical play are what make him a great wideout. He never seems to rest or get tired, and he has a passion to win (he just displays it poorly when he's losing - his heart is in the right place, he wants to win and he wants the ball, but he needs to learn that he can't start screaming at everyone when that's not happening). He's one of the better blocking WR's, and he can straight up bully corners away from the ball. He has deceptive speed, and is big enough to grab the deep balls. His biggest knock obviously is that he drops way too many passes. Even so, a wideout with his abilities is hard to find.

Both only seem to play for themselves, and when they're not happy, they obviously don't seem to help their teams out. Moss has been seemingly converted to a quiet wideout, and I think he wants rings enough that he's going to keep his mouth shut. However, I can still see TO blowing up when Dallas isn't playing well or not getting him the ball (or he's dropping it when they try to).

They're not overrated and are clearly two of the best if not the best WR's in the league. Moss is in football heaven now and T.O. is getting better and better. They are overhyped but not overrated! They are both very good and can kill teams with great plays!

Did you see that one-handed catch Moss made in the Colts game? Not many recievers could make that catch. That's proof enough for me that he's not overrated. And while I don't particularly like T.O. as a person, he is definitely talented. Sometimes he has a tendancy of dropping too many passes, but he more than makes up for it when he does catch the ball.

Now that being said, I think there are far more underrated recievers in the NFL than overrated.

Did you see that one handed grab that Moss made last night? That could be catch of the year...and how about that one-handed TD catch against Miami? No...Randy Moss is not overrated. I think the case could be made for T.O. but he is still a great WR...I would say he is more over-hyped than anything.

I don't like Randy Moss much, but he is hand's down the best WR in the league this year. Should be in the top three this year in MVP voting. T.O. is just average at best.

I am a cowboys fan too, but I hate saying this. Tony Romo is no Tom Brady, both moss and Owens are superior receivers. However I think Owens is better at making more of his opportunities. Look at how Moss performed with Preinjury culpepper and Brady, incredible. However look how he performed with Tuiasosopo and Brad Johnson. Moss has to be happy to perform. TO led the league in TD's last year with Drew Bledsoe. You tell me who's better.

Both are two of the best today. And Moss has been doing this since he was a rookie. Brady wasn't doing this last year!

I think they are both easily in the top 5 in the league when healthy (TO had hand injuries most of last year) and motivated (Moss certainly wasn't trying in Oakland).

Well, since BOTH are about best playing today aside from whom? Marvin Harrison and then who Burress? Steve Smith? Chad Johnson?.. Both TO and Moss may be Hall of Famers (like it or not)... so, you're absolutely wrong, in your assessment of their abilities. I'm a NY Giants fan, if that matters. Have you been watching today's DBs trying to cover them, keep them from catching balls in a crowd? (and today's DBs are the best, of all time.)

PS - Don't let your personal feelings about their character overwhelm your perspective of their football skills.
