I took one too but i was distracted by people around me. They kept talking and fooling around so i guess i didn't do so good, i was average but i thought i was smarter than that ...oh well... But what i think is that those tests are pretty biasest so they don't really test someone's IQ. Not everyone thinks a like or takes information the same also people have such diverse ways of looking at things that one test can't possible measure that. SO it was fun to take it and had some good question but i don't think that they are that acccurate to test someone's IQ.

Many times... they kept rechecking, in case there was a glitch in the system somewhere!... I suppose, it should have made me better however, I resented that I was simply expected to preform at a certain level. If I missed the mark it was awful... I rebelled... dropped out of school and continued to mess up my life ! So for me it was awful... also, I was given several personality profile tests... the tests are ridiculous... true or false... "does it bother you to hear voices in your head" ... Now regardless of how you answer this, you are hearing voices in your head ! And some of the questions should have had an "it's none of your damned business" category! Very strange questions... I've had to take two of these... at different times of my life... the results were of course very different as I had aged and learned a great deal, all be it, the hard way!

I Too took a test years ago. I was surprised to see I was not below average. I am not good in math either, especially algebra. Oh, I have a headache just thinking about Math.

I've taken several different ones, mostly to challenge myself. I was plesently surprised to find I was considered a genius!! Some of them are pretty much garbage, but there are some that give you a good indication of where you stand in relation to your peers. I agree with the person who advised not to take it tooo seriously, but go ahead and gloat a little you deserve it!
Always knew I was an a--, nice to know that I am at least a smart a-- lol

Once did one in school when I was a thirteen year old and failed to reach standard for my age group ( even though I cheated and copied off my mate who was Alpha plus or something silly like that )things have not improved, but then why should they, most of the ones who got good grades are gone and forgotten and I still don't know what day it is nor do I care a lot.
be happy bunnies

They used to be really popular when I was a child. I scored pretty highly, but really it was a millstone around my neck. My mother was a really demanding person, and anytime I didn't do well at school in some area, she'd wave this IQ test result at me and say I had the brains to do better. It really was a pain.
I suppose they are good to give teachers a pointer as to a child's potential, and their strengths and weaknesses, but parents should be kept in the dark about them !

I've never taken one on-line. I did a whole battery of Mensa tests (just because I could) just before I went off to college. I let the Mensa membership lapse long ago though.
IQ (Intelligence Quotient) tests only measure YOUR OWN knowledge against the AVERAGE for your AGE GROUP. It doesn't tend to mean much by our age, unless you happen to be a real genius and still working at it!!

They're not as accurate as the Standford/Binet IQ tests, but they can be a generalized indicator of iq. Iq tests really measure how middle class you are or how many middle class experiences you have had. I believe it was Noam Chompsky who pointed out the inefficiencies of the standardized iq test and that it was discriminatory to non whites, disabled people and non north americans.

They gave the "Stanford achievement test" periodically during my school years and as a senior in high school I found they did IQ as part of the test. They did not tell the students that they were doing that! I'm 70 and I suspect that many of you took the test without knowing.
