If you only have 1 golf ball you are going to need a gopher. I volunteer to go for this and go for that. Mostly to buy new balls because I never can find those darn things .

I would suggest going to a driving range or golf course to find
a shop that specializes in golf. Buy the flat bottomed cup that you want to practise hitting your ball into.
But I would say first things first and learn how to drive the ball then work on hitting it into the hole.
If you go to a driving range it costs from 3 to 6 dollars for a basket of balls to practise with (from 50 to 100 balls). You can use their clubs for free.
Once you get the stance and proper hold on the club you can practise on your swing, trying to hit the targets they have on the course. Once you get the swing and direction of the swing down then concentrate more on putting.
If you can't get the ball where you want it to go then why worry about putting first?
But, hey I'm a girl who's only golfed a dozen times or so.
I hope you have a great time learning this sport:))

Unless you are learning putt-putt golf, you will need to rent or buy some irons and woods(drivers). You could probably get away with a driver, pitch wedge, 7 iron and a 3 or 4 iron. You should go to your nearest public course, they should have clubs to rent. But, before you jump on the golf course, you should hit a couple hundred balls at the driving range. And, unless you like searching for lost items, you should invest in some more balls.

You also need a driver. What you have so far is great for miniature golf. I have a full set of clubs, and I walk the course, since I can't drive a ball more than 50 feet. Great exercise. Play in mid-day, and nobody's getting impatient on the tee behind you. (Or, I just let them play through, since I'll never catch up to them again.)

Yes you need a golf pro to teach you; a complete set of clubs to achieve an optimum game, and about 100 buckets of golf balls. Stay away from the water traps! Much good luck to you!

i like golfing, yet interior the beginning up, I hated it. I mean, i'm impatient, so it made experience. I constantly used to think of, "Why could all and sundry merely stand around right here hitting a ball with a stick for some hours!" yet then, after some greater prepare, i in my opinion began loving it. merely wait and notice and you will start up loving golfing, too.

A level surface or playing field might be the first thing to start off with! After that, a good pair of eyes helps, if you don't happen to have wide open spaces or a net to contain the projectile! Then you gotta find the ball once you hit it into unknown territory!

Ugly plaid pants with a Polo(R) shirt that a thousand little polys and esthers died for...

A strong Back...

A new bottle of sunscreen...

A cell phone conspicuosly clipped to your belt, that is turned to "vibrate"...

Good walking/Golf shoes...

A water bottle and cooler... perhaps a fanny pack...

A high tolerance for both frustration and boredom...

And three other buddies to wile away the hours shooting the breeze as you trapse all over your local course - either on foot, or in your little electric cart.

Enjoy, precious!

Peace.

You need a driver, and more than one ball, wedge putter, and more clubs.
