We went to Steamboat CO last year and loved it. We were thinking about going somewhere new this year. Somewhere in Utah or Colorado. Any recommendations? Is there anywhere similar to Steamboat?

Thanks!

There are lots of resorts in Colorado that have similar skiing to Steamboat. The unique thing in my opinion about Steamboat is the western atmosphere of the town and hot spring pools.

One of my favorite places in Colorado is Winter Park. Breckenridge is also really fun, much bigger than Steamboat (at least it used to be). The recommendation would be to go to what they call the Summit. Summit consists of Arapaho Basin, Keystone, Copper Mountain and maybe Breckenridge? The ski area's are located reasonably close to each other, you get a summit pass and you can ski at any of those areas. Arapaho is the highest altitude ski area in the state. The base lodge is at something like 10,500 feet.

Of course there is Vail too.

Other options - Heavenly Valley in California/Nevada is fabulous so is Sun Valley Idaho. If your really good and want a challenge - Jackson Hole, WY

I've never gone skiing in Utah.
