Depends on where the pain occurs.
For example, prior to my back injury, I used to run marathons (26+ miles), bike one hundred miles in 106-degree heat and other 'astounding feats' of human endurance. The pain wasn't bad and I really enjoyed those events.
However, the one time (please God - no more!) I passed a kidney stone, I was wishing for death, it was so painful.
