That would be the South Pole.

The Americans have a scientific base at the pole, the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Base.

There are actually TWO poles here - the actual pole surveyed in every year by the USGS designated by a special marker with a brass plate on the top. The other is the ceremonial pole which is a barber pole with a mirror ball on top surrounded by flags of the first nations to the sign the Antarctic Treaty.

Santa Claus's summer home.

There is a candy-cane striped pole with a silver yard ball on top, surrounded by the flags of all the nations involved with research at the south pole. A few dozen yards away is the scientific research station.
