LOL!! I have this same problem! Sometimes I look at him in amazement, because it's just so....beast-like! LOL Well, after 7 years of being together, we have gotten it down to "the look", and that basically means that I stop eating or talking and look right at him with a raised brow, which clues him in to what he's doing, and he stops. This works extremely well in social situations, by the way...I can't gripe him out like a child in front of everyone, so "the look" goes a long way!

Leave him alone. This should be in the relationship textbook. When you start to notice that you hate his driving, hate his voice, hate his walk or that he chews with his mouth open- you are mad about something else. You are studying him because you two don't talk anymore or you don't listen or you are having respect issues. Get re-focused on the inside and you won't notice these superficial things. He is not you. You chew with your mouth closed and let him chew with his open- really. Spend your energy on making yourself your best. Do you respect the person that he is trying to become? Do you know what he struggles with- the person that he would like to be? Do you honor his journey? Help him to become who his best is:; his best for him- not your best for him.

I have written this many times now. Men just want women TO BE NICE to them. BE NICE!

Love your man as he is. He's on a journey- same as you.

If he is saying that he would really like to learn to chew with his mouth closed (which I doubt) than help him with a little hand squeeze.

Do not tell him how disgusting he is- that is so rude and obnoxious- not loving at all. It is because you are embarassed by him- it's not right.

Mine does the same thing. It use to drive me insane but now when he does it, I think of something nice that he does for me. For instance, I don't complain anymore because I know I have some annoying habits that he has accepted. Let him be a man. When he does it think about the fact that he doesn't cheat or make good money or is good in bed...it helps me.

You know it's funny because I read all your questions and you really have some issues with your husband. Do you think you are nit picking him because of your unresolved feelings for your ex husband? You need to let go of this like I have told you in the past answers I have sent you. Have you started researching codependency yet? You really should girl, you have to let this go or you are going to be going through divorce number two very soon.

Honey, I can't believe you posted this on a message board! Sure, I chew with my mouth open sometimes, but it's because your dinner is so bad I have to let the toxic fumes out!

My ex boyfriend ate every meal like it was his last.. and LICKED SPOONS AND FORKS!?? He's 50 years old, for god sake! Once, we went into a very formal restaurant, and he LICKED THE SPOON?

This wasn't his only horrendous habit.. he was a neanderthal.

Meanwhile you can remind your husband to please be conscious of the way he chews... that's the best you can do... and don't take him to a formal restaurant.

That is just disgusting. I'd have to tell him in a not so kidding way. Its just plain bad manners and embarrassing, and that I don't want to be seen out in public when he does it.

Stop making him dinner until he learns how to eat like a person not like an animal.
