Some people don't think older ctizens should be allowed to speak up. I think this a abuse of the worst kind. What makes one person better than others? Who decides? Say what?

I am referring to people who think they can speak for everyone just because of their age. If no senior citizens were around to tell their stories, then how would anyone know about diversity? Seniors are a diverse group. Some want to censor others if they don't like where you live or what you say. There is abuse, then there is over-abuse!

Make no mistake about the seniors not having a voice. We
all have them. And this next election, you are going to hear
from them all at once at the polls. We are going to show, that
we are mad as .........., and we're not going to take it anymore.
We've finally come out with a united stand, and we aren't
going to let anymore of our constitutional rights be taken from
us. We want a man in the oval office who not only has the
backing of the majority, but that he has the majority in mind to
represent them, and make his decisions based on the faith
people not only have in him, but a good and honest conscience of his own. No more of this getting money and
returning favors to big businesses. Where is an honest man
outside of the political arena that will come forward and
represent the pulse of America? Now when it's the most im-
portant time in history. I'm calling it, The losing of America.
As we are losing in so many ways. It's time to regain our
country from the corrupt politicians. And aren't they all?
And it's time to regain a country, we all were once so proud
of. It's time to stand up and be counted. We need new faces
and honest minds, in our white house, and congress and
in every branch of our governmental offices trickling down.
It's imperative that everyone vote in 2008. And not for the
party, but for the man. Our lives and living conditions will rely on which person is the better, to keep roofs over our heads
and food in our mouths. The gap seems to be widening more
all the time for the low incomed persons of these United
States. What happened to that pledge, "One Chicken for
every pot?" Well we're down to just the soup bones now.
And we want another chicken for our pot, and not higher
utility bills we can't pay. We need a real presidential leader.
And right now, there isn't one running that I can see.

Of course seniors care about what goes on in this country. We are all very concerned over what will happen to social security fort the generations behind us. We care about all the costly changes in medicare and rising health care expenses. Most of all, I care about a war being fought where so many young people from our country and others are at risk of losoing or do lose their lives every day.

There was a time when seniors were revered for their accumulated wisdom. Sadly, our culture has become so youth oriented, that our seniors are not valued nearly as highly as should be. Seniors absolutely should have a voice in every issue that is of concern to our society -- a strong and highly-regarded voice! It is detrimental to the future of our culture and of our world to refuse to hear the voices of those who care for us as their children and grandchildren, who have obtained wisdom through years of observing world events, and who have gained knowledge and understanding through having *lived* history and having noted the patterns of trends and human behavior.

Everybody should have a voice if it is a matter that concerns them. We seniors care. You just have to find the right person to listen.

yes they should..they offer so much to the current world..they have live through and seen things we only read about in books..their opinions are based on facts not just hear say and most people of that age group have more time to listen to issues and hear more of the background behind them

Of course, all people should have a voice, young or old. Some people care to use their voice , some don't. I don't think that this is anything to do with age.

I cannot agree with you more. We should vocalize our concerns as it is our future too. We have had a lot of "living" experience to draw upon.

A voice in what?

And great...a "what if" question. I'm guessing that many do care about whatever you're question is actually about.
