why are we supossed to put Bay Leaves on the shelves of the pantry ? is it just for smell or some other reason

Bay leaves are thought to help keep kitchen moths away. I do put some out in a small dish in the pantry that contains my flour/cereal and pastas. All I can say is that I do not have a problem with those pesty moths.

bay leaves help with pantry bugs/ moths. i have been putting them on all my shelves and drawers in my kitchen cause when i bought my house it was infested with pantry bugs.

bay leaves are good for cooking and also it keeps bugs from your pantry

Bay leaves repel bugs. And they're great in soups and stews.
