goal scorer- I hate to say it but Kovulchuk. I hate his game otherwise, but give him the puck and there is a good chance it is going to hit the twine.

I'll rank them based on my preference
1. Ilya Kovalchuk - best scorer I've seen since Bure
2. Dany Heatley - the guy can literally shoot a howitzer from anywhere
3. Alexander Ovechkin - still a bit mistake prone with the puck but can only get better
4. Rick Nash - imagine if he played with Crosby or Thornton
5. Jarome Iginla - Two Rocket Richard trophies don't lie

Jonathan Toews could be a contender for this crown pretty soon as well!

Mike Modano. Looks at his stats: top goal scorer in the NHL, spitting distance of being top points leader for American players. Who else can say that?

I'd start my list with Ovechkin, Kovalchuk, Nash and Heatley, all proven scorers. I'm sure there are some others we will add since I see HZ in Det and MC in LA both are bulging the twine quite regularly right now.

Kovalchuk is one of the best right now. Others who are consistently near the top, Heatly, Ovechkin and maybe Lecavalier if he continues as he did last year.
