Injuries and the fact that Bush was one of the highest paid players at USC.

When Peterson was a freshman at Oklahoma, he was a freaking beast! His freshman year, he dislocated his shoulder. He broke several NCAA rushing records as a freshman and was a finalist in the Heisman race. Then the next year he was sidelined most of the year, with limited playing time, with an ankle sprain. Then the nest year he broke his collarbone which again sidelined him for most of the year, which he ended his collegiate career 74 yards shy of breaking Billy Sims all time rushing record at Oklahoma.
The NFL scouts were sceptikal about his toughness. While proving them all wrong, Peterson is probably the toughest back there is in the game today. If Peterson keeps his pace up, he'll break all kinds of NFL records.
Look out Emmitt!!!
As to your question, Bush had a great year last year, as did his team the Saints. Coming into this year everyone expecting the same year from both the Saints and Bush, but it looks like a fluke to me.....

I have to agree on injuries, but also Bush was on the better team. Come on a National Championship and a Championship game. Where was OK those two years that Bush was at USC? Not trying to put down OK either, I am just not that big of a college fan. I'm saying that when you have a utility player, disguised as a running back, getting those numbers on a big name program that is getting to the Championship game that player will get more attention. It is like Lienhart getting all that attention, and to be honest he doesn't look that great in the NFL if you ask me.

I guess you have to hand it to Reggie for switching to the right agent because he is definitely over-hyped and I mean by everyone. You are correct in that if Deuce were healthy I would like to see Reggie line up as a slot receiver and forget about this nonsense of being a running back. Once you get Reggie beyond the line of scrimmage he is a big threat and since he has such good hands why not a slot receiver. For the non-believers Reggie has not rushed for a 100 yards in a game. Of course, the media says with Reggie it's not about rushing yards. It's about all purpose yards. What B.S.

Because Reggie Bush put moves on defends that theoretically isn't possible. Now this should be noted as a much higher value skill in NCAA rather then in the NFL. It has yet to be determined if he will translate to the NFL yet. But the idea is that he is a freak athlete, and if they can use that in an NFL setting he might be the most exciting player of all time. And in the NFL, exciting is just about everything when it comes to dollars and cents.

AP missed most of his season in college due to injury, that's why Reggie Bush appears to overshadow AP. Plus Reggie is still the more of a complete back than AP. The only reason why you fell the AP is overshadowed is because of the one game AP had where he broke the rushing(game) record.

They main reason, i think, is the country hates OU and anything that comes from here. Yes, I am from OKLAHOMA. He is proving in the pros he is twice the running back Reggie Bush wants to be or ever can be.
Refs, coaches and fans will try to screw OU if they get a chance, Oregon. OU has one of the best all time records in the NCAA but get little recognition for it.

BAN THE BCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think getting hurt in his senior year and not being able to play did that to him. I didn't really watch college much but I did know who Adrian peterson was, and when the Vikings got him I was surprised but without a QB he really doesn't have anywhere to go except rookie of the year...

Peterson really only played one full season at Oklahoma, which was his freshmen year, when he was third in the Heisman voting. He was hurt the last two years, or else he would have had all the hype.

Same reason AP waas the heisman front runner every year, and never one it. He got hurt. Everyone in the country knew what a freak he was after his freshman year.
