Yeah, I do. Don't take this the wrong way, but I never grew up having money. My dad raised me most of my life, by himself, along with one of my brothers and my sister. When I get around people who are better off than me, and only those who know they are, I feel out of place. Just for a moment, because then I look back at my life, my struggles, drug life, street life, and I realize that I may have done more than they have in their life. I then feel that much taller than those who look down on me. With my tattoos, and my age, being the position I am at work, people look down on me. They test my knowledge, cause before I was a street thug. Thats all they saw me as. Once they get to talking to me, and understand who I am, and hear what I have to say about what they test me on, they change their opinions. I've even had customers tell me, that they thought of me being totally different. Now, I am well known in my town. You see I changed what people thought of me, just for being myself, not what others wanted me to be. I did this, cause I found out who I am

Yes, always. Ever since I was a kid. Not only did I have a feeling of being different, but other kids around me let me know that I was. I can't quite say what it is, but I feel more like a cartoon, then a person. I think many people at times feel out of place. I have found groups of people that I feel more ok with though, and they are usually artistic or creative types. So, maybe you have to find your 'group'. Maybe, you are like me and would relate better to very creative people, or maybe you have an extremely high IQ and would relate better with people who are similar in that way. The only way you won't ever feel out of place all the time is if you are average and who wants to be that?

Sometimes I do. It is normal, we all can loose our directions sometimes in life and so we feel we don't belong. But this is a great chance to see the world under another perspective, even though it might be a difficult time. This is part of philosophy too: look from a different angle and you will see what no one else can see. This can set you apart but it is the ground where knowledge comes from.

Not to diminish your feelings, but who doesn't? As I think of people that I know, few strike me as otherwise. Everyone has deep seated feelings that are seldom if ever shared with others. Pressures to conform and perform in ways that don't always feel natural to us leave us out in the cold when we have no one to share our thoughts and emotions with. As an agnostic-atheist and a liberal democrat in a family much more traditional than myself, I feel quite a bit like an outsider myself. Although I often long for more family contact, I have learned to be content as I am.

Welcome. Everyone feels out of place, because basically everyone is truly different, unique, and special. I know it sounds like some politically correct public service commercial, but still true. We feel we don't fit in because our thoughts and actions and view upon the world are totally 100% original and being done for the first time in the history of the human race. No one else has them, no one else will, no one else can truly relate or be exactly like you. So feel welcome in the fact that you are not alone and that we are all truly out of place.

yup,,,, may be most of the time i think so,,,, i used to feel alright till i reached my 10th grade,,,,and started thinking out of the box,,,and thats when i found i am nowhere here ,,, from what i wish or think, there is no one,, no a single guy or girl to understand me or atleast listen to me,,,so i speak no more about my thoughts,,just feel this feeling of being out-of-place, living each day as if i am an alien,,,closest to be called someone from mars or jupiter or may be as far as pluto,,, something i dont know why i m doing something just because others do it,,, just do assure i m not different from them,,what the fcuk,,,it stinks me,,, but loner as me ,,, dont have much options either,,,i have become lonely by heart, by soul, by mind, and i dont know why i keep on faking myself,, now and then just to not annoy others of showing my difference lying within....oops long one ,,,,sorry ,,,, but just couldnt hold on my lingering feelings and thoughts that have been hovering over me since so long......thanx
But yeah my question is DO we have another option than to live in the place or among those who dont understand us?

yeah, the trick is to realize none of us do but yet we do. everyone feels out of place sometimes, but I love the fact that I'm different, it means I'm not like every other Mary, Sally, and Jane out there, I'm me and if you don't like that then you go ..... away. People who want you to fit into their little boxes nice and neat and organized don't like people to be different and they ostracize you and make you feel like an outcast that you don't belong and you know what, you don't. why? cause you're trying to be you and you should accept yourself for who you are just like you want someone else to accept you for who you are. like you, you're likable, and worth liking!

Always.
I always feel out of place in my family, relation-ships, church, school, job, community, etc.
except with the human race.
I feel out of place with a human being with name race colour language stc. but not with human being on this earth.
Not at home with with races, religions, countries, languages etc. etc

I really do think my life is like the Truman Show. I think people are watching me and my life is just some big made up joke. I think everyone in this world are actors, and people are watching me. I think people are watching me from another country.
