Hello, my external Hard Drive died on me. It’s also out of warranty.
I accidentally disconnected the power supply and this action screw up my hard drive. The problem is that the external hard drive drives goes on but the internal disks doesn’t spin therefore I can’t see the drive in my computer. I have all my music and files on this drive, is there a way I can save it or is are there peoples out there who repair hard drives?

If you take it to a place such as Best Buy's Geek Squad they can recover your drive for you for a fee. It just depends if you want the data bad enough to pay the price.

You may have damages something simple (hopefully) within the hard drive unit - possibly a fuse of some sort - go to a repair shop and ask them if they can do a quick check (ideally for free)

Failing that send your hard disk back to the manufacturers - while it is no longer under warranty (and they will want to charge for the repair) they are best suited to fix their own drive.

There are people out their who can recover your data - but they are not as cheap as any of the previous solutions - they tend to charge by the megabyte . gigabyte recovered. Do a search on Google to find a local data recovery specialist.

I realise it is too late to say this - but next time get two disks - and mirror the data on one disk onto the other - this is the cheapest option for ensuring you can still access your data.

Did you hear the hard drive click when you turned it on? If so, this is known as the Click of Death.

If the data is really important to you and it is irreplaceable, there's many techs out there who are willing to recover it for you for a hefty price.
