On here, at least, it seems that the conservative Americans actually hate the liberal Americans... it seems to be far broader than being unsatisfied with the leadership of either party.
Is that how you feel? If so, why?

LibKilla: Ha? I am guessing your name has some relation to your views and how you are perceived.
Ken, VtJames7, and LibKilla--those all sound like the same reason why libs don't like rep./conservatives...
**I really want to know this. I am not trying to pick on people or start worse arguments.

Because their motto is, if you don't think like them, you are against them, and therefore hate America.
On here, they try to get a rise out of you too.

I am a fairly conservative American and I harbor no particular feelings of ill will towards "liberals", so where you get this idea of "hate" is beyond me. Disagreeing with someone does not indicate "hate". Yes, there are some conservative people that take a stand for what they believe in, but this is no different than "liberals" who march and demonstrate for their beliefs. To say otherwise is hypocritical.
I just finished a graduate degree on a fairly liberal campus. I found the supposed liberals to be quite closed-minded if someone questioned them or dared to have a differing point of view. When I would speak about other opinions that differed from theirs I would be shouted down. For example: I don't support national (socialized) health care. I think it should be individual state-run programs with federal funding support and basic universal requirements, but with latitude for states to enact programs in ways that best serve their populations. (Individual states can better address unique regional needs than one massive federal bureaucracy.) The liberals at that school only support a nationalized "one size fits all" health care program that is 100% "free" (with no explanation for how it would be funded). My differing opinion somehow opinion made me a racist, hater of the poor, and sub-human. Not very liberal thinking on their part since it was their way or no way.
Liberal means accepting and recognizing different opinions and points of view, even those that directly conflict with your own opinions and feelings. Many "liberals" fail to meet this definition.

I dont hate liberals at all but I do feel bad for people that are so consumed with hatred and are driven by such blind faith in an ideology that they cannot have a rational discussion without calling people names or resulting to character assassination. The liberals of today share little in common with liberals say circa 1940. Many of todays liberal activists and political leaders are highly intolerant of any and all views that do not conform to their wishes.
Personally I find "liberal" leadership to be naive on the one hand and manipulative of the weakest among us on the other.
Ken's example was right on target. The liberals almost always bring in children or some racial minority and accuse others of being against them if they dont support liberal policy position that have consistently failed
Most of the "conservatives" here gave commentary on their views of the liberal mindset that may not agree with what liberals think of their own mindset but nonetheless, the points were not hatefilled garbage. ALL recieved more thumbs down than up and then there is what liberals posted and recieved thumbs up for
"The neocons of today are absolutely no different from the rabid Nazis of Germany.
Only today just replace the word "Jew" with "liberal."
Interesting that you all cannot tell the difference in the rhetoric

I gave you a star for this question and am looking forward to hearing what the other side has to say. I would love to hear some thoughtful answers.
While expressing my own point of view, I do try to not name call and insult the other side. I have noticed that the fundamental Christians tend to see the world in stark black and white. Perhaps that is why you got the answer about the Anti-Christ. Chances are she will not give a logical answer.
Libkillah? Yeah, that sounds like you really enjoy the company of those that disagree with you... Your name detracts from your credibility, sorry...

Only the most unintelligent resort to name calling and hateful language when debating any topic.
That goes for ANYONE in my opinion. In fact, I don't even acknowledge people who resort to that behavior. their opinion means nothing to me because they couldn't come up with a reasonable response to a question.
I know I'm not answering your question really, but when it comes to things like this, that's how I feel about it.
BTW...politically I consider myself a liberal republican if I have to claim anything. Generally speaking I belong to no party.

I don't hate liberals. I just can't understand why they think like they do. People, that it's their religion to KILL us, and they( the liberals) think that if we are nice to them they will forget about it. They hate Bush but we have not been attacked here since 911. You just don't see the times they have been stopped. And movie stars, what do they know about real life? "zero" Remember Carter? I remember 18% intrest rates, him giving away the Panama canal, The hostages that were in Iran for over 400 days.. R, R had them released in hours. The only thing that the terrorists understand or respect is force. Why don't you get that. Last, the people that the liberals want to hug would chop off their heads first. Did you hear the Pres of Iran say they have NO gays in Iran. How would you like for him to rule here?

Why do Liberals think everyone hates them? Any time we disagree you call it hate speech. We don't hate you . Think of it like this. You are with a group of friends. During the discussion one friend has an opinion that is so off base that you don't understand where they come up with such garbage. You try to correct them. They get louder and more indignant and eventually they are causing a scene. What do you do when you can show them facts that they are wrong and they still wont listen? You don't hate them . They just are impossible to talk to.

Only for those liberals who think abortion is a womans right . That she should control her body to the extent of killing the life that is developing inside her .
Plenty of ways to avoid becoming pregnant . So I say if you become pregnant then you have a responsibility to the person developing inside you .
You do not have the right to abandon a child after its born without consequences and as such you should not be allowed to terminate the life growing inside you .
Its sad that if a mother and child are killed and its the fault of someone else's negligence that they can be charged with two counts of murder even if the woman was on the way to the abortion clinic for a scheduled procedure to kill the child growing and developing inside her .

Well, mostly I hate their personal attacks on character if I have a different opinion.
Liberals when challenged to do what they say they don't.
Example:
Lib: We need more taxes for the children.
Con: Well you can send more money into the IRS.
Lib: You are scum and you hate Children and only lookout for yourself.
Con: But you are not willing to do what you are asking.
Lib: You are a low life that want children to die. What is a few dollars more. You can afford it. You lousy child hater.
Anyone ever have that argument?
Jen - I had this argument with quite a few Libs.
Jen - Your second comment has no substance. Please, clarify.

You are generalizing here.
For the most part, conservatives do not hate liberals.
It is just those that have bought in to the phony conservatism of The PNAC that do.
Those that support this current administration without thought, support every ill-conceived policy without question.
They are simply radical extremists and members of a small minority.

I an a Conservative, and I do not hate liberals, I strongly dislike and loath some, but not all.
The main problem that I have with liberals is that they tend to use their feelings instead of logic as a day to day guide for what they believe, and how they should act.
Here is the root of our problem. Conservatives tend to use logic....something that a person can argue. Liberals tend to use feelings.....a person cannot argue how a person feels. A feeling is what it is.
