I've always lived on the seacoast in Massachusetts and could never imagine living inland. I understand there are beautiful rivers and lakes out there but there's nothing like the sea.

My home is six feet from the ocean
Hurricanes, Nor'easters be damned. I love it here.
(Was just walking on the beach a few minutes ago...)

I used to live there near South Padre Island. Now I'm a bit further away (Wyoming!). I prefer the mountains and the drier air , and rust isn't a problem here.

yup. I grew up near the ocean and it's the thing I most miss in the place I now live. Nothing like the ocean.

I've lived both by a coast and inland from one. And really, none is better than the other, its all personal preference.

well I've lived 30-45 minutes from the beach... but now i live in Az (the closest thing i have to water is the hose) and i'm fine

never lived near the ocean. I have no desire to deal with hurricanes!!!!!!
