We'll be in town 11/8-10 and are looking for something fun to do indoors besides shopping. Did the walking tours & outdoorsy stuff last fall... now what?

Edit: We'll be in and around the greater Boston area during this time.

If you have kids, check out the Children's Museum (www.bostonchildrensmuseum.org). I grew up in a suburb north of Boston, and my fondest childhood memories are from there. The Aquarium is definitely a close 2nd. There is also an awesome planetarium located at the Museum of Science (www.Mos.org) which shows some great IMAX presentations... (Pink Floyd the Wall was a personal favorite when I was in High School). The Planetarium can be fun even if you don't have little kiddies to entertain.

If you're up to travelling outside the city, my hometown of Salem, MA is a great tourist location. It is about 30 mins north of the city right on the Atlantic. It was made famous by the Salem Witch Trails of the 1600's and there is plenty to see there (especially if you like spooky old houses and cobblestone streets). It is generally a prime Halloween destination, but it is beautiful in the fall (and a lot less crowded after Halloween has passed!) Hope this helps; )

The only thing I can think of to do indoors besides shopping would be to visit museums, aquariums, etc. There are plenty of museums in New England but it is such a large area I can't be more specific unless I know what part of New England you are visiting.
