PCOS and metformin?

anyone who have taken meformin for PCOS how long did you have to take it for you to get a period

I have pcos and on metformin, I started it on August 31st along with provera to induce my period,before then I had very bad ireguler periods, so far this is my 2nd month on metformin and my cycles are now reguler, its a 29day cycle, I am just praying this month I get a BFP.

Metformin is a good pill for treating pcos and I hope u get the results your looking for when u start taking it.

I used metformin for PCOS but had to stop taking it due to the horrible side effects. I actually went to a licensed Chinese Herbalist and got a tinicture from them (it included the fabulous Angus Cactus) , within a couple of months I was having periods and with a little change to my diet I have been having periods ever since. That was 11 years ago. I am now pregnant with my second child. I would definately recommend a herbalist.

hmmmm i was taking agnus castus because i heard brilliant reports from it (reg your period ect ect .....sadly 6 months later there was no change still had not conceived and my periods were still absent or v v irregular....i too have pcos and waiting to go and have a special x ray done to see if my tubes are blocked and starting me off on clomid in dec...... best of luck to you ............................x x x give agnus castus a go..... i have heard it can work.... just not with me :(
