I am 17 years old from north east Scotland. I only just found out i have a brother who is 25, The only things i know about him is he is originally from Buckhaven, his name is Christopher, Surname possibly Murphy, and he is in one of the British Forces. I have already contacted the Forces but because of the DPA (Date Protection Act) They are unable to tell me anything. Does anybody have any ideas ? Thanks.

P.S Jeremy Kyle is a last resort :).

Try 'Genes Reunited' - http://www.genesreunited.com - create an account, put in the members of your family that you know and then search for relatives that way. I've found tons of lost family members with it, including my Dad's aunts and cousins who he had never met.

You might also want to try http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk, as you have a birthplace and name.

Good luck finding your brother. You have more information than most

This is a hard question to answer.Try to go onto the website ANCESTRY.COM. Put your name in there and try to pull up your family history.Talk to your parents or your other family members to see if you can find out any details about your brother.I just recently went onto this website and this is wierd because my family too originated from Scotland and one of the family names is Murphy so your question really caught my eye.I hope things work out for you but searching for somebody could be a long and stressful process.
My sons father just found me on the internet after 17 years of searching.Good Luck honey and please if you need to talk, you can E-mail me at any time.

This is pretty similar to the movie, "Rain Man." I think you should look him upon WhitePages.com with his possible name(s) or talk to your parents (if they are alive) about him. They just might break and tell you EVERYTHING.
