This condition is making me very depressed that I want to take my life. No matter what I do I smell. I do not know what is wrong with me. It is not as easy as just take a shower. I do shower and put on deodorant/antiperspirant afterwards but I still smell bad. 10 minutes out of the shower I smell. I don't know what to do. I have lost all will for life. I have been to the doctor, but nothing they have presrcibed me has worked. I did have surgery to remove my sweat glands, but I still smell bad even with my sweat glands removed. I have tested negative for TMAU and I am stumped on what is wrong with me. I have tried every natural remedy, and natural and commercial antiperspirants/deodorants. I can't go anywhere without people having hysterical coughing fits and sniffling nonstop. It is not in my head. I am really smart and love school, but I barely go to my college classes because of this. The one thing I love the most is taken away from me and I can't live like this anymor

People don't want to talk to me or even sit next to me. When they are paired with me for a project they grunt because they have to work with the smelly girl. This problem started when I started college which was three years ago and it has not gotten better. I smell 24/7 and there is nothing I can do about it. I just want my life back and I am willing to do anything to have one sniffle/cough free day before I die.

Sweetie, you mention seeing a doctor but don't state what type. May I suggest that you make an appointment with an endocrinologist to see if you have a problem with any of the glands in your body? Since surgery for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) didn't work, it is worth pursuing your other glandular systems.

Another thought, do you always use the same perfume? Some perfumes react with some people to leave a terrible odor. If you have a favorite you always use, ditch it and try another. The same goes for your soap.

Also, are you vegetarian? Some vegetarians experience increased body odor. Even if not a vegetarian, certain foods increase body odor in some people: garlic, curry and cumin are a few.

Also, have you ever been checked for diabetes? If not, the endocrinologist will probably do that. But diabetes can also affect body odor...especially when untreated. There are more than 30 medical conditions that can cause bad body odor. Please see an endocrinologist and don't give up! Find the cause of your problem.

Good luck!
