The Liberal media referrs to those who are involved in it. For instance, polling reveals that nearly 80% of journalists are registered Democrats and support Liberal causes. Add to this the fact that most people in the broadcast business in general are also registered Democrats and support Liberal causes as does much of Hollywood. You then have a pretty good case for the statement that there is a bias in media that favors Liberalism and Democrats.
On the other hand, you have Fox News that simply tries to report the news with no bias and suddenly, it is seen as being virulently Conservative. Yet, there is little difference between the facts being reported. Sure, there are Conservative commentators but they are admittedly biased.
It seems that so much of the mass media is populated by Liberals, they just talk to each other all the time. I think this causes them to erroneously believe that practally everyone thinks as they do. But this is obviously not the case.
If Liberal dogma were actually mainstream, you would not see all the Democratic presidential candidates hiding behind the "Progressive" title and running away from the Liberal title. While on the Republican side, each is trying to present himself as more Conservative than the others.
The unfairness it that Conservative talk show hosts and authors clearly define themselves as such, while Liberal talk show hosts, script writers, directors, producers, actors, pundits, newscasters, reporters, casting directors, models etc. rarly do. They just present their side as being the way it is and anyone with a different opinion is not just wrong but evil or dangerous.

Well, they don't actually have a Liberal Media, it is just another in a long list of verbal propaganda that Republicans and Conservatives use to manipulate the public. According to the Republican orthodoxy, the people never know what is going on unless a guy like Rove tells them what to think, in the way of a broadcast and commercialized lie.
Of course, they are never going to admit that they use propaganda better than the Communists ever did!

The corporate-owned mainstream media carefully protects the interests of its corporate advertisers, which is where their revenues come from. I don't necessarily blame them for their viewpoints because their reason for existence is to make money.
To describe them as "liberal" is ludicrous. The term "liberal media" is a concoction of the right-wing propagandists. The purpose is to try to pressure the mainstream media to become even more right-wing than it is.

Cons consider any media that accepts scientific concensus and does not pander to religion as liberal media. The rest of us shrug our shoulders and wonder what the hell they are talking about.
And why was the liberal media complicit in helping Bush sell the Iraq war by ignoring counterpoint?

MSNBC, CNN, CBS, ABC, Air America and anything that Ted Turner is involved with.
I should point out that polls done of reporters since 1964 show that if the election were left up to reporters, we would have had a Democrat for president every single time. Those polls are available on the internet.

The NBC, MSNBC, CNN, and several others Do tend to bias some of their news to the left.
Does that make them Liberal-No
The same question can be posed as an opposite as well. Is Fox news "conservative"?-Hardly. do the tend to lean to the right-yes
You seem to be out for an "I gotcha" answer. sorry to let you in on this (All news stations have some bias)

I suggest you do a little research and find out which networks have donated to who's campaigns. I think you will be surprised that there ARE liberal networks! And trust me there HAVE been generous donations to certain parties. I supplied one article... you can find more.
