Yes; it hurts no one in actuality, but helps so many - and the potential for solutions/cures for diseases is unlimited.

I do, and believe it or not, there's been a lot of it in the past few decades.
What I don't believe in is funding it with federal money.
Most of the people who are pegged as being against stem cell research aren't against it generally, but specifically against the FETAL stem cell research. While a minority of those oppose it on religious or even quasi-religous reasons, the majority of opponents of FETAL stem cell research really only oppose it being federally funded, because (unlike "stem cell research" overall), FETAL stem cell research has not yielded any treatment of anything to date.
Basically, they think there are better ways to spend the money.

ImaCatholic2 gave a complete and honest answer that should be more than sufficient to enlighten any honest critic of the Catholic Church on such matters. I am against embryonic stem cell research because it has been shown to lead to what I regard as plainly savage abuse of human life. I regard adult stem cell research as legitimate, honest, and properly respectful of the fundamental dignity appropriately recognized in all human life. I am Roman Catholic. Peace be with you.

Yes. Lots of wonderful healing potential with Stem Cells. If we can clone animals, then why can't we cure cancer???

Personally I dont care.
Either way someone dies, sure the parapalegic has probably been wishing for death since whatever caused him to become crippled. But why bring yet another mouth to feed into this world when you can scavenge it for parts and prevent it from coming into this wretched world full of war, famine and disease to begin with?
