An investor needs to invest money. If you have no money to pay your bills, you can not invest anything except your time and effort. I recommend that you start 'at the bottom' and get a job at a real estate company so that you can get your own financial house in order, gain background experience and start building a social and professional network before worrying about becoming a "real estate investor."

You find real estate that can be bought for no money down, then you use 'guerilla marketing', anything which does not cost money, to promote the sale of the real estate. You got to a public library and use email to communicate with all the buyers you found with your marketing efforts. When you sell the property, you use that money to buy another property.
You continue until you have enough money to buy a cell
phone and a car. Then your marketing can be conventional.
