From what I understand about past lives, there is usually a span of time between lives that you review and incorporate the previous lives before beginning into the next. Sometimes for whatever reason, a person might jump into the next life without that time spent. I think it is very possible that if the last life was the other gender and a person didn't get the reflection time between, then the inclinations could cross into the new life.
Honestly though, I think it's a genetic flicker coupled with human nature in preferences. Such things have been tracked throughout history all over the world. Those who claim otherwise need to do a little deeper digging in the lives of those from other cultures.

I seroulsy doubt it.
If you're one to believe in past lives, then it's fairly reasonable to assume MOST people were of the opposite gender in at least one if not more past lives.
So, if your assumption was to be true, then EVERYONE would have to be gay at some point.
No, I really doubt this one.
That's like asking if all gays and lesbians were molested as children.
No of course not.
This would beg the question, if all gays and lesbians were molested as children, why aren't all victims of child molestation gay/lesbian?
Sorry, it just doesn't fit.

I don't believe so. Based on my religious beliefs surrounding reincarnation, the atman (soul), the true essence of all you are, is what carries into the next life & the atman has no gender.
Gender would be attached to our worldly bodies, not our atman - the body is simply a vessel, and all of which deteriorates when that body dies.

Being attracted to the same sex has nothing to do with biological gender. ones gender and one's sexual preference are not linked except that some men like women and some men like men and the same for women.
Past lives do not exist and are a myth unless you watch that stupid hag Sylvia Browne on the Montel show.

I don't think so, considering reincarnation doesn't exist. Sorry. Your current orientation is only reflective of this one life.

anything is possible, or it could be a precursor to your next life by preparing you for what you will encounter. makes just as much sense.

your question assumes that there is a past life, which is not a proven fact.
