Thre are many countries which may lose at least part of their low lying land to the sea - The UK and USA not excluded. However, almost all of these, even Holland and Bangla Desh, do have some higher land which will remain above sea level.

Hence the countries which are in danger of completely disappearing are small island nations. The risk relates to the type of island. The lowest lying islands are those formed from coral reefs and these tend to be tropical and in the pacific.

Tuvalu and Vanuatu are frequently cited examples.

Yes, isn't it funny. The Netherlands may seem the first to be overwatered, but Holland is the Country best prepared of all for such disasters. My country, Denmark is much less able to face any overflooding since our Westcoast is so far away from our capital that they can't see us. Southern Jutland is the flattest part of continental Denmark (most of it being below sea-level), and will be the first part to suffer from the socalled global warming.
I heard a geologist sayng that he failed to understand the much talking about ozone-layer and carbondioxyde. What is happening now is very common in Earth's geological History, and all we can do is sit and say okay.
Funny, innit?

None! Even if all the ice on the planet melts sea levels won't rise enough to completely submerge any one country but once you also include the fact that increased temperature will result in increased evaporation followed by increased cloud cover which means the Earth's albedo will increase so the overall temperature of the Earth will fall again, reforming the ice caps!

So sorry no drowing Dutch people for you!

The Karibati Islands claim they will be the first victim, the Maldives do as well. Though much of their problems are due to their infrastructure ans subsequent erosion.
