Theoretically it could happen, but the odds are astronomical.
If it did happen, there would be a series of tiebreakers used to determine the 12 playoff teams. Tiebreakers would include such factors as intra-division record, intra-conference record, and number of points scored. I think up to a dozen tie-breakers can be used to break ties.

Possible, sure but not very compelling. One thing that makes the NFL and sports in general exciting is the differences between the teams. What makes the Patriots 9-0 vs 4-4 is what makes the league great and fun to watch whether your rooting for or against the Pats. The NFL can talk parity all it wants but trust me, they don't want that kind of parity..

It could happen theoretically and they would then go to the various tie-breakers they have in place to determine home-field advantage, division winners, and wild-card teams. Here are the tie breakers that would determine the division winners,
1. Head-to-Head
2. Division Record
3. Common Games
4. Conference Record
5. Strength of Victory
6. Strength of Schedule
7. Combined Ranking Among Conference Teams (points scored and points allowed)
8. Combined Ranking Among All Teams (points scored and points allowed)
9. Net Points (common games)
10. Net Points (all games)
11. Net Touchdowns (all games)

if every team in the league went 8-8 two things would be certain:
1. pats fans would whine about penalties.
2. pats would cheat, whether they needed to or not.

My vote is for the universe imploding. That would be cool if it happened. Not the universe imploding, but everyone going 8-8.

All 8-8 can happen, that's why there are tie breakers.
