As you said yourself already, your ammonia is way to high
I assume that your tank is pretty new, and it's going through the cycling process, the biggest mistake you can make is adding any kind of chemicals besides the water conditioner
it will ruin the cycling process and will make it longer
The only thing you should be doing is partial waterchanges of 25% every other day or even every day to help your fish to survive this ordeal
the fish which died, died from nitrite or ammonia poisening

Also don't play around with the pH levels, they're fine as long as you acclimate your fish properly to your water
here is an article on how to do it

Hope that helps
Good luck

The symptoms you describe certainly sound like Neon Tetra Disease. If you are reasonbly sure that is the case, I would recommend euthanizing the fish. To the best of my knowledge, the disease is invariably terminal and there is no known cure.

it is going to impact diverse fish, particular. pass the ill neon/s to a diverse tank, yet in case you have no longer have been given from now on have been given one in undemanding terms located some cooking salt (iodine-loose!) indoors the tank, or some sea salt sparkling from the sea.
