Ok.. -- I am an 18 year old male --

For the past few years I've been exhausted and generally have just felt like ****.. (Don't tell me to see a doctor -- trust me I've gotten the blood work done, its all fine)

Well.. I wake up.. Feel completely exhausted and for the most part feel like that for the rest of the day. It just drags on and I feel so lethargic..

I am not taking any medicine.. I eat well (no sugar, no sweets), Im active... bla bla bla..

I also have a rosacea which I think may be a sign of a run down immune system, I've had my tonsils/adinoids removed and took a large dose of antibiotics, but I am on probiotics.. -- I dont think this is exactly the problem because its been going on for only the last few years..

I really dont want to go to college feeling like this, I want to get down to it. So anny suggestions or thoughts?

Thanks for reading

This sounds like a textbook case of depression. Have you ever been diagnosed with this?

My suggestion is that no matter how many doctors say you're fine, keep searching till someone finds out what the problem is! How can you be on probiotics if they haven't found the problem? How do they know what you need ? Have you had an endochronoligist do a work-up on you? A rheumatoligist? A mental health evaluation to make sure you don't have depression? You may have an auto-immune disease (lupus, Bechet's, Wagner's, rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid deficiency, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia etc, etc, etc, etc) but if you feel that unwell over a prolonged period of time, trust your feeling. Something is wrong! It just hasn't been found yet. GOOD LUCK!!! Check out the website: "but you don't look sick". You definitely are not alone. And wait to start college till you are feeling well. It's intense and you'll not do your best.

Whatever the cause is, consider taking Wellbutrin for your fatigue. It an antidepressant, but its also a mild stimulant. Most other antidepressants will make you tired and this is one of the few that will give you a bit of energy.

Get your iron levels checked. They never check guys and your iron levels can be low even if your blood work is fine.

Read up on Celiac Disease and go on a few week trial of no bread or glutten.

Get allergy testing done. I had to go to three Allergists before finding out I had delay pressure hives. These are hives under the skin and are more like swelling. I had drop dead fatigue for fives years and had been to countless doctors before that.

Get a sleep study done for sleep apnea.

Get an asthma test if you are out of breath at times.

Ask your doctor for a very short trial of prednisone. If you feel good while on prednisone, go see a rheumatologist.
