Because there is no originality or creativity in the music world these days. Many of these artists and bands have been 'manufactured' to a certain 'formula' so that they will appeal to the mass market. A lot of them are also over-produced in their studio recordings, to help them sound like others.

Until people actually demand *real* music, we will continue to have this current rubbish forced on us.

You're going to have to be a bit specific. What artists do you have in mind? But, to answer your question to best of my ability right now, it's all about what the public demands. If artists see that their targeted audience likes a certain type of sound, they'll produce it over and over again, and why not? It makes money.

It's getting easier to break in the music industry. There's even an advertisement going around in teen magazines where there's an "academy" that can "train" you into a pop princess within months.

I honestly don't think some artists even try to be different.

I would say because they were inspired by the same artists and the music they are making is what the public buy. So blame the large percentage of the public for the boring same music.

I agree! I think many new country artists sound a lot like George Strait or Garth Brooks. That's because they idolize them and often try to copy their style. They figure what works for their heroes will work for them as well.

Because the record labels find a sound they like and sign more and more groups with the same sound untill its totally saturated in the market.

Here's a simple answer. Lack of creativity? Too lazy to think? It's easier to go for the fast cash? Pick your choice.

'Sound alike'? Perhaps you mean that they all speak about the same things, when interviewed. Right?
As human beings -First- (And artists next), everyone has aspirations, search for excellence at their work (Music), and talk about innovation, creativity in their work, perfection, etc.
In that sense, they all sound alike, i guess.

depends on the music genre but generally with hip-hop people apply the formula and say that they did all this stuff someone else did when they actually didnt.
