PC monitors are much cheaper than high def TVs, so i'm looking for cheap compatible monitor to hook up to myt PS3 so i can actually play my games in a decent resolution,.

The PS3 has an HDMI out on the back of it, will it work with monitor that has a DVI out on it? and to make it happen is there a normal HDMI - DVI cable i need or will i need some sort of adapter or something

What you need is a monitor with a DVI input. I would also recommend that you buy one that is HDCP compliant.

HDMI = single link DVI + HDCP encryption all in a smaller connector.

If you do not get a HDCP enabled monitor then when you put a blu-ray disk into the PS3 you will either get a standard-definition image, or no image at all.

You will also need separate speakers. I do not know of any monitors that implement the audio-over-HDMI option.

confident, the PS3 continues to be nicely worth getting besides the fact that in case you have no longer have been given a HDTV. I had my PS3 for around 11 months and that i performed it on a customary T.V. and the pictures have been great on it, yet once I upgraded to a HDTV final December, the pictures regarded lots extra useful. yet the two way, the PS3's pictures will look solid on the two a customary television.

Dude, a PS3!? Lucky. Well, as to your question, I would just use the TV. PS3 has very good graphics, and I don't think the graphics would be perfect with any computer monitor. Well, I hope this answers your question, and have a good time playing your PS3! Did you get the new Ratchet and Clank game? It looks so cool! I wish it was for PS2, which I have.
