Well to answer your question, the first thing you should know what spermicide is and does and what lubricant is and does.

A spermicide is a kind of cream that is used as a contraception. In short it's used to kill sperm.

A lubricant on the other hand is not a contraception and is used to aid sex. There are women who have problems with lubrication and use it to make sex more enjoyable for both parties.

So to answer your question, No KY jelly does not prevent pregnancy. Only a condom or other forms of contraception like the pill will do that. Of course the best would be abistinence.

If you have any other questions or problems it would be best to approach your local gynaecologist. Alternatively you can read up a bit on your questions on the internet. I have provided the links for your information. I hope you find them useful.

It doesnt kill sperm, but if you are TTC i wouldnt use it because although it's not a spermicide it doesnt provide the ideal environment for sperm to live in though. The best thing for that is eggwhite cervical mucous, also Pre-Seed.

Pre-Seed is a lube that mimics incredibly fertile cervical mucous. It provides a good environment for the sperm to live in, is ph balanced, nutritional for them and the way it is made up they can swim brilliantly through it.

I got pregnant the first cycle i used Pre-Seed with my second baby. :o) Awesome stuff!

Check out preseed.com KY and other lubes can impair sperm mobility but won't kill it like a spermicide. Don't use it if you are wanting to conceive, sometimes it can make it a little harder to get the job done.

K-y Jelly is a lubricant not a spermicide. It will not help you from getting pregnant.

ky jelly is just a lubricant and no way is it a spermicide ( does not kill sperm) so it should`nt be used as contraseptive!

I wouldnt use it as a form of birth control, but if you are TTC it is recommened not to use a lubricant as it makes it harder for the sprem to get to the cervix

It's just a lubricant.

It has no effect on you getting pregnant or not.
