Alchohol is chemically a depressant. So you may feel better during the moment your drinking, but the next few days you will fall and be down.
Go to a doctor if you can't relax yourself and get over your boyfriend. He/She will prescribe you something to get you over the hump.
But try to realize that relationships end all the end. They hurt for awhile, but then the pain lessons over time, and you eventually move on.
If you can keep this in mind, you will not need medication.

I am single mum. I have been suffering for panic attacks for some 15 years now, though it was not until recently I understood what they were. They were progressively getting stronger and more frequent, stopping me from some days even leaving my house. I read this book and it all made perfect sense.
I am not saying I was not terrified of putting theory to action, I was more scared of that than the next attack! But I decided to view it as a game, one I had control of and could therefore not lose!

Don't automatically go on drugs, or you'll be on them for the rest of your life, feeling like a mental patient the whole time. First try ordinary counseling and if you're really adventurous, try meditation and/or yoga - those may help you work through your thoughts and ultimately rise above the negativity. If you make a concerted effort therein, you may find them to be very powerful, and in parallel with counseling, you will almost certainly be successful without drugging yourself into oblivion. (the side-effects of some of these "meds" people are taking can be horrendous - don't do it!)

Drinking is not a good method to relieve anxiety!
I take Seroxat and Reboxetine every day and find that they make a big difference. You need to see a psychiatrist so he or she can prescribe what you need

Nah drinking doesn't help. Get with your doctor to discuss. There are short and long term meds avail. Time heals and you will get through this... Try to check yourself and your thinking - no awefulizing, rhumatizing, spin cycle thinking allowed.

i used to have panic attecks and was anxious. i got sent to a psychologist and she taught me how to handle my anxiety. its called progressive relaxation. u practise it every night before you sleep. there has to be complete silence and no distraction. once u practise this long enough, u can calm urself anytime anywhere by just instructing your mind to calm down.
here's waht u got to do-
Progressive Relaxation
This technique is often most useful when you tape the instructions beforehand. You can tape these instructions, reading them slowly and leaving a short pause after each one.
Lie on your back, close your eyes.
Feel your feet. Sense their weight. Consciously relax them and sink into the bed. Start with your toes and progress to your ankles.
Feel your knees. Sense their weight. Consciously relax them and feel them sink into the bed.
Feel you upper legs and thighs. Feel their weight. Consciously relax them and feel them sink into the bed.
Feel your abdomen and chest. Sense your breathing. Consciously will them to relax. Deepen your breathing slightly and feel your abdomen and chest sink into the bed.
Feel your buttocks. Sense their weight. Consciously relax them and feel them sink into the bed.
Feel your hands. Sense their weight. Consciously relax them and feel them sink into the bed.
Feel your upper arms. Sense their weight. Consciously relax them and feel them sink into the bed.
Feel your shoulders. Sense their weight. Consciously relax them and feel them sink into the bed.
Feel your neck. Sense its weight. Consciously relax it and feel it sink into the bed.
Feel your head and skull. Sense its weight. Consciously relax it and feel it sink into the bed.
Feel your mouth and jaw. Consciously relax them. Pay particular attention to your jaw muscles and unclench them if you need to. Feel your mouth and jaw relax and sink into the bed.
Feel your eyes. Sense if there is tension in your eyes. Sense if you are forcibly closing your eyelids. Consciously relax your eyelids and feel the tension slide off the eyes.
Feel your face and cheeks. Consciously relax them and feel the tension slide off into the bed.
Mentally scan your body. If you find any place that is still tense, then consciously relax that place and let it sink into the bed.
then sleep for 20 minutes if u cant do this right before you sleep everynight.
believe me it works! all the best!
