when 2-methyl-2-butanol is dehydrated using sulfuric acid it forms 2-methyl-1-butene and 2-methyl-2-butene. Based on how many protons can be abstracted, the ratio should be 1:3 but i actually calculated it to be about 1:7, why is that?
